Trapstar Puffer Jackets

Trapstar Puffer Jackets Built for a UK or alike Winter

A Trapstar puffer is insulated outerwear built for British winters, not styled to look like it. Baffled fill runs through the body and sleeves, cuffs and hems seal in heat, and the Irongate T sits across the chest or collar on every piece. Three lines cover the range, and picking the right one matters more than picking a colour.

Irongate Puffers

Irongate is the flagship line, and the collar and hooded builds are what most people picture when they think of Trapstar outerwear. Both run true to size with room to layer a hoodie underneath. The collar zips to the jaw and sits flatter under a seatbelt or bag strap. The hood adds cover in rain but sits high enough that the collar still closes over your chin.

AW23 marks the current season's cut. Trapstar reworks the panel layout each year rather than replacing the jacket outright, so the code tells you which version you are looking at if you are matching an older piece.

Decoded Puffers

Read this before you size one: Decoded puffers run noticeably cropped, sitting above the hip rather than on it. Most buyers should size up one, especially if layering a hoodie underneath. This is the most common sizing mistake on this jacket.

Decoded is the high-shine side of Trapstar. The 2.0 update tightened the panel layout without changing the cropped length, so if you found the original boxy through the middle, the 2.0 sits closer without losing the shape.

Hyperdrive Puffers

Hyperdrive is the technical line, and it causes genuine confusion because it exists as both a lightweight ripstop shell and an insulated puffer. Check the product title for "puffer" specifically if warmth is what you need. Reflective detailing and a packable build carry over across both versions.

Fit and Sizing Summary

• Irongate (collar or hood): true to size, roomy enough to layer a hoodie underneath.
• Decoded: size up one. The cropped cut catches most first-time buyers out.
• Hyperdrive: true to size, but confirm you have the insulated version and not the shell.

All three lines run S to XL. Complete the fit with a Trapstar hoodie underneath, or see the full Trapstar jackets range for coats and gilets alongside the puffers.

Caring for a Trapstar Puffer

• Spot clean first. Most marks lift with a damp cloth before a full wash is needed.
• Cold, gentle wash. Zip the jacket fully and wash it alone, with down-safe detergent.
• Skip fabric softener. It clogs the fill and kills the loft that keeps the jacket warm.
• Dry low with dryer balls. This redistributes the fill evenly after washing.
• Store on a hanger. Compressing a puffer in a bag for months flattens the fill permanently.
