The Smallest Category, and Why

Denim Tears makes very little outerwear compared with most streetwear labels of similar standing. There is no seasonal puffer programme and no run of technical shells. What exists is mostly denim, and it exists in small numbers.

That is consistent rather than a gap. The label is built around a motif and the materials that motif refers to, so denim outerwear makes sense in a way a nylon puffer would not. A jacket carrying the cotton wreath on cotton denim says something. The same wreath on a synthetic shell would just be a logo placement.

The practical consequence is that these move quickly and do not come back. If a size is here, that is the stock.

Denim Jackets

The denim jacket is the piece most people are looking for when they search Denim Tears outerwear, and it completes the story the jeans start. Same cotton, same motif, worn on the top half.

One styling note that saves a mistake: a denim jacket over Denim Tears jeans in the same wash is a difficult look to carry, and the matching wreath print on both halves makes it harder still. Either break it with a contrasting wash, or wear the jacket over fleece from the hoodie range instead. The second is how most people actually wear it.

Fit and Layering

Cut with room to layer at your usual size, so a hoodie underneath is accounted for rather than a squeeze. Denim outerwear starts stiff and softens into shape across the first few months, so a jacket that feels slightly structured out of the bag is behaving correctly.

Only size up if you plan to wear thick knitwear underneath regularly. Sizing up for the sake of it leaves the shoulders sitting wrong, which is more noticeable on a structured denim jacket than on a hoodie.

Care

Treat it like the jeans: wash rarely, cold, inside out. Denim outerwear needs washing far less often than fleece does, and every cycle costs you indigo and softens the print. Spot clean and air it between wears instead.

Hang to dry on a wide hanger rather than tumbling, and hang it to store as well. Folded denim outerwear sets creases at the shoulder that are difficult to remove once they are in.
