8 Sport Melton Varsity

Melton is a dense, brushed wool that was used for varsity jackets long before streetwear existed, and it is the reason these hold their shape rather than sagging. The 8 Sport Melton Varsity in black carries chenille lettering on the chest and contrast sleeves, the full collegiate build. LA and NY Chapter Satin Varsity

The chapter jackets connect straight back to the International Stussy Tribe, the network of city crews that carried the brand through the 1980s and 1990s. The LA Chapter Satin Varsity names its chapter outright across the back. Satin sits lighter than melton wool, so these work through spring and autumn rather than deep winter, and the sheen reads dressier. The Comme des Garçons collaboration varsity approaches from the opposite direction, pairing Stussy with Japanese avant-garde tailoring. Neither is reproduced once sold through.

Stussy Windbreaker

For a technical shell rather than an insulated jacket, the Nike x Stussy Windrunner reworks one of Nike's most recognisable running jackets with Stussy detailing. The Windrunner shape has been in production since 1978, and the chevron across the chest is the detail people recognise instantly. It blocks wind, handles light rain and packs away small. As with all the Nike collaboration pieces, it is produced once and does not restock.

Sizing and Care

Stussy uses US sizing and cuts outerwear relaxed. Order your usual size for room to layer a hoodie underneath. Only size up if you regularly wear thick knitwear beneath a jacket. Varsity jackets in particular run generous through the body by design.

Care depends entirely on the material, so check the label first. Down puffers need a cold gentle wash with down-safe detergent, then a low tumble with clean tennis balls to break the fill back up. Air drying alone leaves down clumped. Wool melton varsity should be dry cleaned rather than washed. Satin varsity needs the same. Canvas work coats machine wash cold and hang to dry. The Windrunner shell washes cold and must never go in a tumble dryer, as heat damages the coating.
