Elitework is the functional end of the range
Most of what Corteiz puts out is designed to be seen. Elitework is designed to work. The shell handles rain properly rather than resisting drizzle, and the cut borrows from workwear rather than from sportswear, which is why it sits differently from the Bolo or a windbreaker.
Genuinely waterproof, with one condition
A waterproof shell only stays waterproof if you look after the coating. Fabric softener is what ruins it, because it leaves a film across the face fabric that stops water beading and starts it soaking. One wrong wash undoes the reason you bought it.

When to reach for it
