Knitted Sweater or Fleece Crewneck?

This collection holds two different garments that shoppers often treat as one. Worth separating them before you buy, because they behave nothing alike.

A fleece crewneck is brushed cotton on the inside, warm through trapped air, and it holds a boxy shape. A knitted sweater is constructed from yarn rather than cut from fabric, so it drapes rather than holds structure, and it breathes far better. The crewneck is the one to layer under a jacket. The knit is the one to wear as the outer piece on a mild day.

Both sit flatter under outerwear than a hoodie does, which is the practical argument for choosing either over the hooded version. No hood bunching at the collar of a varsity jacket.

Nike x Stussy Sweatshirts and Knits

Four of the thirteen pieces here come from the Nike partnership, which makes this the densest concentration of collaboration stock in the whole Stussy range. The International Crewneck in black carries co-branding across the chest on a heavyweight fleece body, with a grey version alongside it.

The 8 Ball is the brand's most recognised motif and the Corp Crew puts it on a heavyweight fleece body. The black version is the everyday pick, with white also available. If you already own an 8 Ball tee, the crew gives you the same graphic in a piece you can wear through winter. Ribbed collar, cuffs and hem keep the boxy shape sharp rather than letting it sag.

Modern Age and Strawberry Crews

Modern Age is the quieter option, running across navy, black and white with restrained chest branding. Navy is the one that looks most expensive in person and the least common in the range. Strawberry sits at the other end, with a bolder print in black and white for anyone who wants the crewneck to carry the fit rather than support it.

Stussy Stock Sweater

The Stock Sweater is the knitted piece that carries nothing but the signature. That restraint is the point: it reads as a good jumper first and a branded item second, which makes it the easiest thing here to wear somewhere the rest of the range would be too loud. Black is the safe choice and pink is the interesting one. Knitwear needs more care than fleece, so check the guidance below before washing.

Sizing and Care

US sizing throughout, cut relaxed with dropped shoulders. Order your usual size. The knitted sweaters run slightly closer than the fleece crewnecks because yarn drapes rather than holding a boxy shape, so if you are between sizes on a knit, go up.

Fleece crewnecks wash cold at 30 degrees, inside out, then air dry. Skip softener, which flattens the brushed inner face over time. Knitted sweaters need more care again: cold hand wash or a wool cycle, then dry flat rather than hung, because a wet knit stretches under its own weight and does not recover. Never tumble dry either type.
