This is the Stussy Skull Wings Pigment Dyed T Shirt White. Skull Wings is the boldest artwork in the tee range, and the pigment dyeing stops it looking like a printed novelty piece. Pigment dyeing sits colour on the surface of the cotton rather than bonding it into the fibre, then the garment is washed afterwards. It arrives already softened with a faded, lived-in tone instead of a flat block colour. White puts the graphic at its highest contrast, so it reads clearly from across a room. Heavier cotton than a standard tee, which stops a large graphic pulling the fabric out of shape. Forty years on, the logo still works because it was never designed to be fashionable. It is one man's handwriting, so it does not date the way a styled wordmark does.
Fit. Boxy through the chest with a short body, cut to the same 1990s pattern as the hoodies. US sizing, so it wears wider and shorter than a UK equivalent. Order your usual size, or size up if you want length.
Styling. Wear it alone in summer or layered under an open shirt.
Care. Wash inside out at 30 degrees with similar colours. No bleach, no softener. Air dry and iron on the reverse only, never across the graphic.
